Wi Fi in the Hall

In the last couple of years, we have concentrated our efforts on future proofing the Hall in particular replacing the felt on all flat roofs and replacing the central heating boiler. With confidence we can now look forward and are excited to let you know that we have installed full fibre Wi Fi in the Hall and now want to explore  ways to integrate  this with the sound system, DVD player, projector and screen already installed in the Hall.

Activities

The Hall has never been so busy. We have Exercise Classes, Pilates, Yoga,  Zumba and Art group every week and Sit and Sew and Craft and Chat twice a month. Young Wives  hold their monthly meetings in the Hall as do the Community Council and the Hall Management Committee. The Hall is also regularly used for children’s parties, family celebrations and after christenings and funerals.

We are really excited at the opportunities Wi Fi linked to our existing equipment will bring to the Hall. We can envisage the Hall being used by organisations where links to websites and projection are required during presentations.

The Management Team    

We do have a very willing group of volunteers who have contributed significantly to the Hall as it is today but 3 or 4 of its members readily admit that age is catching up with them when it comes to looking forward, particularly to taking full advantage of Wi-Fi and the equipment we now have in the Hall. We do need 2 or 3 new members on the Committee who are able to do this.

Annual General Meeting 

The AGM of Bangor Isycoed Village Institute, the charity which owns the Village Hall on behalf of the residents of the Village will be held in the Hall on 6^th October at 7.30. All residents are members of the Institute, and you are invited to come along. A notice and agenda will be posted in the village nearer the date.

Built in 1747 as an Endowed School and extended in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, its interior has undergone a major transformation since 2008. Its primary function is to provide a modern amenity for use by the residents of Bangor-on-Dee and the surrounding area. It is owned, on behalf of the residents, by a registered charity – Bangor Isycoed Village Institute and managed by a Village Hall Management Committee (VHMC).

Current regular activities include exercise classes, art and craft groups, society meetings and social gatherings.

The Hall is also available for Private Hire and being within 100 metres of the Church is ideal for gatherings after christenings, small weddings and funerals. It is also a perfect venue for families and friends to celebrate birthdays and other special occasions and for small business meetings and presentations. The well-equipped kitchen is often used by outside caterers.

The Hall is very popular for younger children’s parties as it has a number of small tables and chairs.
