I have recently started classes at the Village Hall Bangor on Dee on a Monday Evening, the classes have been very welcomed by the local community, and the surrounding area, I have really enjoyed meeting new people and I know Pilates classes can benefit them. 

WHAT IS PILATES?

Pliates was introduced by Joeseph Pilates he was a frail and sickly person he used to experiment with many different, exercise and movement approaches to develop his own body, having proven his techniques on is own body he began to teach to others.  Pilates is body conditioning method that targets deep postural muscles to encourage correct movement patterns, alignment and muscle balance.  It aims to develop your body awareness, improve your posture and integrate your mind and body

There are 6 Pilates Principles

Breathing – breathe fully

Concentration – move correctly and be aware

Control – how the body moves

Centering – connect with the core (concentration and controlling)

Precision – concentrate on moving correctly to maximise effectiveness

Flowing movements – moving in a smooth controlled way

Pilates offers endless benefits from elongating, stretching, and strengthening the whole body to improve muscle strength, balance flexibility and posture.

Pilates method is that it works so well for a wide rage of people, few examples getting back into shape after pregnancy, recovering from an injury or illness, have a back problem, relieves stress and tension and promotes a feeling of wellbeing, it really doesn’t matter whether you are young or very old, very fit or have done very little exercise in the past – All the exercises are developed with modification that will make them safe and challenging for a person at any fitness level.
