Hello and welcome!

At last, we have our own website which has been developed so that residents of Bangor on Dee and the surrounding area are able to keep up to date with all there is to know about the Hall and the activities that are available.

You will find a lot of useful information about the Hall’s facilities, history, organisation, contact details and lottery but the 2 sections which we recommend should be looked at regularly are this one which will provide up to date news about the Hall, and the Current Activities one which gives a detailed description of all activities available in the Hall including contact details for all leaders.

The Craft and Chat group which has been meeting in the Hall for many years is now introducing an additional session on the 4th Thursday in each month. All you need to know is included on the poster below.

Young Children’s parties have become increasingly popular in the last year and everyone who’ve used the Hall has been thrilled with the facilities on offer. it costs just £10 an hour to hire the Hall and all its equipment and you are allowed time to set up and clear up at no charge. Have a look at the photo in the facilities section to get an idea of how the Hall can be set up.

There are a number of slots available during the week. Have a chat with your friends and neighbours to see if there’s a group activity which you think would be popular and would like to introduce. Local not for profit groups still pay just £6 an hour for the use of the Hall and all its equipment.

If you or someone you know is interested in running a regular activity themselves the rate is just £11 an hour also for the use of the Hall and all its equipment.

One bit of news which will regularly appear here is a listing of the latest lottery winners and the winners of the latest draw are posted above.

The aim was to provide details in a format which enables you to get the information you’re looking for with the minimum of fuss and we hope you feel we have achieved this.

New Exercise Class

Michelle a local resident and qualified physiotherapist who already runs two circuit based fitness classes on a Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon in the Hall is going to be holding a physio led strength-based circuit class (Sweaty Bettys) for women who are Perimenopausal or Menopausal every Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 pm commencing on April 11th. Details will be available soon in the activities section but in the meantime Michelle has provided the following information.

During this phase of a woman’s life, we begin to lose oestrogen which accumulative can lead to weakened bones which in turn leads to fractures. Research has proven that it is beneficial, for bone health, for women to be lifting weights.

Too much negative press over the years has led women to believe that lifting weights will “make me look like a man”. Listen, unless you’re taking steroids and increased levels of testosterone, you are not going to look like a man.

This exercise class is not a gentle class, it’s not a yoga class and it’s not a Pilates class – Those classes will have their benefits in terms of flexibility and mindfulness. Sweaty Bettys class will make you feel stronger, improve your mood and help tone up those muscles.

So, if you’re still reading, and you don’t want to end up frail when you (finally!!) retire and you want help with your Menopausal symptoms then come down and have a go. You can pay as you go or you can pay upfront for the month – whatever works for you.

For more information Michelle can be contacted on 0751424020.

For those who are interested in Yoga or Pilates classes go to the activities section for details and contact information.
